Volunteers Needed for 2017 National Bicycle and Pedestrian Documentation Project
Volunteers for the National Bicycle and Pedestrian Documentation Project will play a critical role in: 1) building a robust and public database of pedestrian and bicycle use; and 2) identifying local and national trends in biking and walking. These counts are essential for advancing active transportation because they inform planning and engineering professionals on the diversity of our transportation and recreation habits.
Counts in September will be conducted at the following locations:
- Heritage Dr and Ravensworth Rd in Annandale
- Magarity Rd and Peabody Dr in Pimmit Hills
- Park Run Dr and Westpark Dr in Tysons
- Richmond Highway and Huntington Ave in Huntington
- Frontier Dr, Commerce St and Amherst Rd in Springfield
- Beulah St and Telegraph Rd in Kingstowne
- Town Center Pkwy, New Dominion Parkway, W&OD trail and Fairfax Co Pkwy in Reston
- George Mason Blvd and University Dr in Fairfax
- Rt. 50 and Metrotech Dr in Chantilly
- W&OD trail and Gallows Rd in Dunn Loring
