Bicycle Maintenance class through Parktakes

Fairfax County Park Authority is now offering a bicycle maintenance class this winter. Bicycle Maintenance is a two-hour lecture-only class being held on February 7 and March 21. Here's the course description:
This introductory course covers topics such as flat tire repair, brake and gear adjustments, basic lubrication and how to perform a safety check on your bike. Tools and equipment needed to work on your bike will be discussed. Do not bring bikes to class.
The class is held at Rocky Run Middle School in Centreville and costs $36 for residents and $51 for non-residents.

Now that there are a couple of League Cycling Instructors (LCI) in Fairfax (Liz MacGregor (Vienna), Kathy Rosen (McLean), and myself (Bruce Wright of Reston) I'm hopeful that more bicycling classes will be offered this year not only through Parktakes but elsewhere. Kathy Rosen and I teach private lessons as well. Kathy teaches through her business Up on A Bike. You can contact my about classes through RestonBikeEd.

Update: A major omission in my list of Fairfax LCIs: Andy Clarke, President of the League of American Bicyclists who lives in the Dunn Loring area. Also, Adam Piceno received his LCI training several years ago and should be included on the list.
