Wakefield bike/ped bridge update - Closure postponed

The Wakefield Park bike/ped bridge was scheduled to close this week but the closure has been postponed until September 20-24. We've asked that signs be placed well in advance of the closure, not only at the bridge, but at entrances to the park. Cyclists must ride long distances to reach the bridge and they should have plenty of warning about any closures. According to the HOT lanes project:
The HOT Lanes Project did not close the Wakefield Park bridge this week to raise the structure but we are on track to close it starting on September 20-24, weather permitting. We will post signs today or early tomorrow on the bridge and on the pathways leading up to the bridge advising users of this four day closure. We are updating our fact sheets today and will post those online and at the park. Please contact me if you have any questions.

The bridge was closed on Monday and I assume it will be closed thru this week. If I hear news about it opening I'll post on the blog.
