Bike to Work Day 2007

Tomorrow is the Bike to Work Day. I hope everyone is planning on riding to work that day, including a stop at one of the many pit stops around the region. FABB members will be at each of the Fairfax County stops as well as the Alexandria stop.

FABB member Hunter McCleary is featured in an article on bike commuting in the Fairfax Times. He rides from his home in Vienna to his job in Bethesda. The 17 mile commute takes him about an hour and 15 minutes, probably not much longer than driving on some days. As Eric Gilliland, executive director of WABA, said “Everyone talks about problems like congestion, global warming and gas prices,” he said. “Bicycling is part of the solution to a whole range of problems.”
