Jan. 24 Community Mtg. for Springfield/Braddock Dist. Biking Improvements
Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) will host a community meeting to discuss two proposed bicycle improvements in Springfield and Braddock Districts on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, 6:30-8 p.m., in the cafeteria of Irving Middle School, 8100 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield. Cyclists are encouraged to attend to speak out in support of these projects.As part of the Virginia Department of Transportation's (VDOT) 2017 repaving program, bicycle infrastructure improvements are proposed for the following areas:
* Greeley Boulevard from Carrleigh Parkway to Old Keene Mill Road.
* Hillside Road from Rolling Road to Old Keene Mill Road.

Great to have FABB at the meeting. Without your representative, I would have never known how important it was to change my neighborhood to make the FABB and FABB supporters lives better. If you don't live in the neighborhood, don't tell us what's best. Great to have a special interest group with some money working with the County planning staff to educate us close minded scared throwbacks. How have we managed to survive this long? FABB, the 1%.

Actually, I live in the same neighborhood. I ride the streets and I work hard to make our community even better. Bicycling provides opportunities for me to interact with neighbors, get me active, and provide a low cost, low impact way of getting to stores, church and transit. What is wonderful about our County is that I have many opportunities to meet and work with hundreds of concerned residents who volunteer their time to advocate for improvements regarding education, transportation, health, fairness, libraries, parks, youth activities, and environment. Its a major part of what makes Fairfax special. We are an evolving, growing and involved community due to their efforts. Instead of just saying no, or casting unfounded accusations about our motives, perhaps you should consider what positive changes you want and get involved in your community.
